Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

An effective system for those who suffer with PTSD and trauma.

  • A place where you can heal past traumas and navigate present challenges.
  • A place where you can deepen your relationships with yourself and others.
  • A place where you can find your voice and freedom to express your thoughts and emotions.

Therapeutic approach:

Counseling is a collaborative approach working together as a journey on a path of self-discovery through the integration of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and mindfulness while taking into consideration the ecosystem of the client.  I believe that all people are wired for connection and have a deep, central yearning to find a place of significance and belonging. As we learn to navigate life, we develop patterns of perceiving, thinking, feeling, and behaving.

My thoughts on our approach to healing

We are experiencing different times and times of transition. Uncertainty can cause anxiety, depression, and trigger previous trauma. Life is full of transitions and can tug at the strings in search for identity. This can leave us feeling ‘stuck’ while trying to push against the boulders.

My personal experience of living abroad for 20 years and raising 5 children, helped me to understand transitions and their complexities. I found that although we come from different walks of life, with a vast amount of experiences, beliefs and perceptions, in the end, we have the same goals; to feel safe, secure, to be loved and to love, to feel accepted for who we really are as an individual in our group of people and within our culture.

These things help us to have a sense of meaning, placement and belonging in our lives.   I would like to have the opportunity to help you search within your true self, and find that special place where you belong in this world while on the road towards recovery and wholeness.
